Sam Fine celebrates his commitment to Black women

Make- up Artist Sam Fine
When Sam Fine goes to work it's an event. Known for beating the faces of Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, and more, Fine has set the standard when it comes to beautifying Black women. Throughout his career, Fine made the connection between beauty and emotions, which makes him a Godsend to high profile starlets. His appreciation for women of color shows through his work landing him the coveted role of Ebony Fashion Fair Spokesperson. These days the Emmy Award winning make - up artist spends time showing Black women how to appreciate and highlight their beauty as an expert for the long standing brand.

I am happy to be aligned with a brand whose mission has stayed the same for 40 years," Fine says of Ebony Fashion Fair Cosmetics. “I find so much more purpose and meaning in what I'm doing now.”

As the spokesperson for Ebony Fashion fair cosmetics his daily duties include, but are not limited to, bringing the beauty of Black women to the forefront - something Fine says has always been a struggle.

The challenges are already in place,” Fine says. “In the beauty and fashion industry European standards are constantly thrown at us. When you look at fashion trends who do they have in mind? So we have to translate those trends still today and it is so purposeful.”

Fine says the images of white models with straight hair, no earrings and make-up that do not compliment dark skin isn't an aesthetic Black women shouldn't have to mimic to be considered beautiful. His job is to make public facing Black women feel beautiful in spite of the dominate images in the media.

We love women like Mary J Blige and Queen Latifah with their big earrings and because they represent our culture,” Fine says. “I love that women are now able to have make-up that is pigment rich, along lipsticks and eye shadows.”
