The UN Headquarters in NYC recently launched the "The Light Within" an immersive exhibition exploring alternative roles of women in society through digital art. The exhibition explores various genres that were created by Black people, from jungle and grime, to lovers' rock and jazz. The exhibition runs through August 31, 2025. The Field Museum in Chicago might just have topped all summer exhibitions with Africa Fashion. The immersive exhibition which runs through June 29, 2025. features a mix of haute couture and ready to wear pieces from more than 20 artists explores the cultural significance of African fashion. While at the Field Museum check out Connecting Threads, an exhibition exploring Chicago's African fashion scene highlighting African designers who live and work in The Chi. Poetics. The show features works by 60 artists from across Africa, Europe, and the United States. Themes range from the Trans Atlantic slave trade to migration and includes artists such as Mark Bradford, Deana Lawson, Nick Cave, Patrisse Cullors and Lorna Simpson just to name a few.
