Design lovers and those in the market for new interiors can attend the ADAC Sample Sale August 20-22. The annual sale includes everything from furniture to rugs and features some of ADAC's most popular showrooms like Peacock Alley, JANUS et cie, Made Goods, Habachy Designs + Atelier and more. The pieces which are normally reserved for trade buyers only are accessible to the public during the sale. While at ADAC shoppers can also explore all 65 showrooms and even sit down for lunch at the Hungry Peach or one of famed Chef Kevin Rathbun's restaurants. General Manager Katie Miner sat down to answer a few questions about the sample sale and what shoppers can expect

PW: Is the sample sale open to the public?

KM: ADAC’s mission has always been about celebrating great design and making it more accessible. The Sample Sale has always been available to the public and is our way of opening the doors and inviting the broader Atlanta community to experience the caliber of design that is typically available only to the trade. It’s a rare chance to purchase high-end furnishings at truly unbeatable prices.

PW: How has the public received the sale? Is it a highlight of the ADAC calendar?

KM: The response has been tremendous — design lovers and savvy shoppers mark their calendars for it. Twice a year, it’s become a highlight event not just for the design industry but for the wider community. People love that they can discover unique pieces while exploring ADAC’s campus and showrooms.

PW: Who are some of the designers/brands shoppers can find at the sale?

KM: This season, participating showrooms and studios include Baker | McGuire, Brice Ltd., Edgar-Reeves Lighting, Ernest Gaspard, Habachy Designs + Atelier, JANUS et Cie, Logan Gardens, Made Goods, Paul +, Peacock Alley, Pierre Frey, Thibaut, UpCountry Home, and many others. It’s an incredible mix of both iconic brands and locally based design talent.

PW:  What are some design and interior trends that are bubbling up for fall?

KM: For fall, we’re seeing a return to layered, textured interiors — think cozy bouclé and mohair fabrics, rich tones that warm up a space, and statement lighting that doubles as art. Sustainability also continues to play a big role, with shoppers gravitating toward timeless, investment pieces that will last.

PW: Does the sample sale include all types of interiors i.e. furniture, curtains, tables, textiles?

KM: Yes — the Sample Sale really spans the entire spectrum of home design. Shoppers will find furniture, rugs, lighting, textiles, wallcoverings, and accessories — everything from one-of-a-kind showstoppers to timeless staples.

PW: Will there be some interior design experts on hand to guide shoppers and/or answer questions?

KM: Absolutely. Many showroom associates and design professionals will be available to answer questions, explain product details, and even offer guidance on how a piece might work in a shopper’s home. It’s part of what makes the experience so valuable.

PW: Tell me about the new restaurant guests can enjoy while at the sale?

KM: Visitors can also enjoy ADAC’s restaurant offerings while shopping. With three restaurants on campus — The Hungry Peach and two from Chef Kevin Rathbun - KR Steakbar and now Krog Bar Coal Fired Pizza which just opened — guests can make a day of their visit, taking a break to enjoy lunch, coffee, or dinner before returning to browse the showrooms. It makes the sale as much about the experience as it is about the shopping.
