After experiencing a very public collapse of everything in
her life Dr. Karin Luise came out the side of her transformation stronger. She
describes it as the deconstruction of her entire identity and at the age of 30, she was faced with a devasting divorce and the challenge of building
a new foundation.
Now an award-winning author, spiritual psychologist, and
transformation expert, Dr. Luise founded Alive Collective - an immersive storytelling experience
with authentic conversation, creativity, and connection. Taking place on November 12th from 5-7pm at Serendipity
Labs in Buckhead, ALIVE Collective is centered around the question “Who are we
now?” The evening invites guests to reflect on identity and
transformation in a world that’s constantly evolving—offering a space to land,
reflect, and reinvent themselves together.
“People are on a continuum in their spirituality, but to be in a room where there’s a spiritual element and you can be safe - people can feel that,” Dr. Luise says.
Luise incorporates a spiritual aspect into each event and spends time in intentional prayer before beginning the immersive experience. Guests are then welcomed with a champagne reception followed by a series of authentic, unscripted conversations with visionary leaders and creators who have redefined their purpose through change.
“Everytime I have an event people say what changed them is that they feel like they’re not alone,” Dr. Luise says. “When they hear that somebody else got through something they can see the potential for themselves.”
The vision is to have a TED Talk stage that is soul based instead of science based. The Story Stage includes various speakers who have “gone through the mess” as Luise describes it. The speakers for the November 12th event are Jenny Levison, beloved Atlanta entrepreneur and owner of Souper Jenny. Jenny’s story is one of continuous reinvention, creativity, and fearless authenticity. Femi Ola, fashion designer and founder of Ade by Femi, will also take the stage. Ola’s journey bridges artistry and inspiring others to own their truth through style and self-expression. Parish Hattub, spiritual coach and intuitive healer will guide others to reconnect with their inner wisdom. Hattub’s story of resilience and rediscovery offers a grounded reminder that transformation begins within.
“The common thread in each story is that there was a reinvention, and they didn’t know how they would get through it,” Dr. Luise says.
Each story is beautiful, but they didn’t start that way, says Dr. Luise whose wisdom is hard won. Married to a professional athlete, Dr. Luise was humiliated when she learned about his numerous affairs. She experienced what she calls the “life shatter” that thwarted her on a path of reinvention. She went back to school to earn her Master’s Degree in counseling and after ten years earned her Ph.D in counseling.
Following another divorce almost 20 years later, Luise finally surrendered to her
calling incorporating spirituality and supernatural experiences into her practice. She has a background
in group therapy, so gathering strangers for a night of cathartic
storytelling to help them through “their most painful shifts” comes naturally.
“The world is full of people rebuilding their lives — after loss, after change, after success that no longer fits,” says Dr. Luise. “ALIVE Collective is a space for that reinvention. It’s about coming home to yourself and realizing you’re not doing it alone.”
