The high arts just got the biggest free promotion this week when Timothée Chalamet said no one cares about opera and ballet. Let’s just hope this renewed interest isn’t a trend. People have been posting about ballet and opera events across social media, filming packed opera houses and must see ballets like BalletX in that stopped in Norfolk, VA as a part of the Virginia Arts Festival

The English National Ballet is making noise across social media with “Body & Soul” the latest production from the company. Videos of rehearsals have been being shared giving ballet goers a glimpse of what to expect and it looks incredible. Renowned choreography Crystal Pite originally created the piece for the Paris Opera Ballet. The work explores themes of conflict. Kameron Saunders who has danced for Taylor Swift and Chapell Roan was inspired by personal experience when he developed “Proper Conduct” which explores the search for authenticity under society’s gaze. Back in Chicago, visit “Aqui en Chicago’ At the Chicago History Museum. The exhibition runs through and explores the resistance and traditions that have kept Latino culture in the Midwest
city alive. Through artwork, interviews, clothing and more “Aqui en Chicago” explores the persistent cultural presence of Latinos in Chicago. From Mexicans to Boriquas, Chicago is home to a diverse population of Hispanics and Latinos who have contributed to the city’s growth since the 1800s. On March 12, The Food Tank will host the 7th Annual “All Things Food” Summit at SXSW in Austin, TX with several programs focusing on sustainability, agriculture, community and women led farms. This year Food Tank will present the 1st annual All Things Food and Agriculture Film Festival with the world premiere of Food Tank's first ever original documentary short film "Irish Farmers: A Love Story." In LA the Hollywood Prayer Network is hosting a Prayer Walk leading up to the Oscars. The yearly event starts out at the Dolby Theater and concludes with a watch party. Hosted by Chris Covell and the Netflix special comedian the Rachet Christian The LA Times called the prayer walk “the warmest and most joyful Oscars watch party in the city” Tickets for the watch party are just $25. The Seeds tour stops in Atlanta on Friday, March 13 at 7:30pm for a screening of the film at the Tara Theatre. The film won the Grand Jury Prize for U.S. Documentary at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and follows Black American farm life in Georgia and the fight to preserve a family’s farming legacy. On Saturday, March 14 The Atlanta Design Festival is inviting the public to the Jensin Okuinishi Textiles x Eicholtz Reception. Jensin Okunishi Studio (JOS) is a custom rug studio exploring the immersive power of color and form through contemporary design.  Okunishi was named to DWELL magazine’s DWELL 24, and has been featured in  by publications such as Wallpaper, The Architects’s Newsletter, Business of Home, and COVER. On Sunday, March 15 150,000 tulips will decorate the National Mall . From 11:15 am -4:15 pm visitors can pick free bouquets as way to usher in Spring. This is the first Tulip Day in DC and the event is organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands and Royal Anthos, a Dutch trade association for flower bulb growers and nurseries. For more information click here
