If in Atlanta, visit September Gray Art Gallery for Wunderland Noir, an exhibition of work by Marryam Moma. Known for her portraiture that blends paper cut collage, photography and found objects, the Tanzanain- Nigerian artist's collection of plates captures moments of Black serenity and softness. In Moma's work rest is portrayed as a form of resistance and self-care as a form of empowerment. The gallery is hosting an artist talk on Wednesday, June 18th from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. The Portland Timbers are celebrating its the 50th anniversary season of the club by hosting an evening with Timbers Legends from the inaugural season in 1975. Hosted by the Timbers Army, 107IST, and Rose City Riverters, the event includes a talk by Peter Withe, leading scorer, No. 9 striker, “Wizard of Nod” in the Timbers 1975 season. Withe who will talk about his career and book, All for the Love of the Game, will also be joined by other Timbers legends for the meet & greet. Dreaming with The Archives - a Brooklyn Bridge Park Exhibition opens on Juneteenth at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Visitors will use their phones as a portal to explore AR - augmented reality - to uncover hidden stories, ancestral memories, and unlock infinite possibilities. The exhibit is organized by Kinfolk Tech in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park. Ari Melenciano, Olalekan Jeyifous, Kiyan Williams, Wangechi Mutu, Jeremiah Ojo, and Hank Willis Thomas are the artists included in the exhibition.
