Trinity Rodman and the NWSL’s Washington Spirit today
announced the historic renewal of Rodman’s contract with the team worth over $2 million through 2028. The deal makes her the highest paid player in the NWSL defining a new standard for
women's sports in the U.S. and across the globe.
The announcement, set to inspire the next generation of female athletes and encourage young girls
around the world, was made by Rodman at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, alongside
Washington Spirt Owner Michele Kang and Spirit President of Soccer Operations Haley Carter.
“I’m grateful for partners like adidas and the Washington Spirit whose belief in this sport match my
ambition,” said Trinity Rodman.
Following in the footsteps in her father NBA Champion Dennis Rodman, who caused a stir when he donned a skirt during his career, Trinity chose an edgier look that makes a statement for the groundbreaking announcement. The Spirit forward and adidas athlete marked one of the biggest moments in women’s sports
history with an elegant, yet bold, outfit styled by renowned celebrity stylist Karla Welch. Welch
styled Rodman in hero pieces that blended adidas’ sport heritage with pieces from Willy Chavarria,
accentuated by personalized nails that reflect Trinity’s love for Washington, D.C., her team and her
partnership with adidas.
“Trinity was walking into one of the biggest moments of her career, and I wanted the styling to feel just as impactful. We built the look from adidas pieces and partner collections so that when she stepped onto the stage it showed strength, elegance, and a confidence that she embodies.”
